Best Apps for Hinglish Captions (2026)

Seven tools that make Hinglish captions, compared on the four things that decide it for most creators: whether the Hindi comes out in Roman letters, what the free plan really gives you, whether free videos carry a watermark, and whether you can get an SRT file.

We make Headroom, so read our row with that in mind. Every other row says only what that tool states on its own page, linked below, checked on 3 November 2026. Where a page does not say, we write “Not stated”. We do not score accuracy for anyone, ourselves included. Try your own clip in two of them instead.

How to choose

Your audience reads Roman Hinglish

Most Hinglish on Instagram is typed in Roman letters. Pick a tool that writes Roman by default, or check how many words you will retype when it does not.

You edit on your phone

Most tools here are browser-only. If you shoot and post from your phone, a native Android or iPhone app saves a step.

You need a clean free export

“Free” can mean free to try, a watermark on export, or a short length limit. Read the free plan line in the table before you upload a long clip.

You finish in Premiere, CapCut or DaVinci

You want an SRT, ideally with timing per word. See our Hinglish SRT guide for how to bring it into each editor.

Where Headroom fits

Headroom is built for people who talk to the camera in Hinglish. It captions in Roman script by default, runs in the browser and as Android and iPhone apps, and can also edit the reel for you: zooms, graphics and emphasis placed on what you said. It is rated 4.8 on Google Play from 676 ratings.

It is not the cheapest option if you only need a subtitle file, and it is not a general video editor. Paid plans start at ₹299 a month for 30 minutes.

Head to head

The fair test is your own clip

Upload one Hinglish video and read the captions. That tells you more than any table.
